MSU Community Music School welcomes public to open house

MSU Community Music School invites the public to attend its open house from 3 to 5 p.m. Jan. 24 to enroll or learn more about the classes and lessons offered to students of all ages and abilities.

During the open house, there will be tours of the percussion studio and keyboard laboratory, walk-in music therapy sessions and an instrument “petting” zoo that will give visitors the opportunity to try a variety of instruments.

The open house will include early childhood music demonstrations at 3:15 and 4 p.m., a Suzuki piano demonstration at 3:30 p.m. and Suzuki strings group information sessions at 3:30 and 4:30 p.m.

“The Community Music School has something for everyone and the open house is a great time to learn more about CMS programming,” said Jaime DeMott, director of CMS. “We offer programs for adults, teens and children with all levels of musical experience and with all levels of ability, including people with special needs.

Students may enroll for classes or lessons during the open house. CMS offerings include private and group lessons, adult and children’s choirs, early childhood music, music therapy, beginning band for adults, string ensemble and Suzuki strings and piano.
