The Spartan Nutrition and Performance Program is offering its speed and athletic enhancement camp, FUNdamentals of Athletic Movement, again this spring to serve the even younger athlete.
The child athlete often needs to understand how to do the right things, at the right time, to develop in their sport, whether they want to be football players, dancers, basketball players or golfers.
Providing hundreds of mid-Michigan teenage youth with quality sports performance training and testing, along with sports nutrition education, Spartan Performance created FUNdamentals of Athletic Movement for 6 to 10 year olds to help improve a younger child’s athletic ability.
The sessions focus on the development of movement skills including the ABCs of agility, balance and coordination, as well as athletic position, proper running form, jumping, landing, hopping, skipping, leaping, throwing and catching. Sessions will also offer games and other fun activities.
Three sessions are being offered starting on Sunday, May 15, 2016 from 5 to 6 p.m., Wednesday, May 18 from 5 to 6 p.m., and Saturday, May 21 from 2 to 3 p.m. at the MSU Spartan Performance training center. The center is located in the Eyde Building at 4660 South Hagadorn in East Lansing. Cost is $25 per session, $45 for two sessions, or $65 for all three.
