College of Business hosts analytics networking event

Data analyst. Data scientist. Big data. Market analyst. Contrary to popular belief, these aren’t buzzwords, they’re terms to describe one of the most viable career tracks in today’s job market, and the Broad College of Business is giving students the opportunity to meet with big names in the industry.

From 12:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. Sept.15 at Spartan Stadium’s Huntington Club, the Broad College of Business MS in Business Analytics and MS in Marketing Research programs will host their annual Fall Analytics and Insights Career Exploration. The event aims to introduce students to the growing field of data analysis and consumer insights, as well as companies searching for talent in this innovative and fast-paced field.

The event is open to all Michigan State students, and more than 50 companies will attend, including Abbvie, BP, the Detroit Tigers, Domino’s, Lear Corporation, Quicken Loans, the Wendy’s Company, and many more.

Prior to the career fair and networking portion of the event, employers will take part in a panel to discuss how big data is changing the way they do business and the mounting need for analytics professionals.

A full list of employers can be found on the event’s Handshake page. Learn more about the event and register on the Broad College’s events page.
