A ripple effect

Fred Addy (‘53, Business; ‘57, Business) and his wife Marilyn Marshall Addy (‘53, Music) have a history of giving that has helped their alma mater in so many ways.

Between the College of Social Science and the Eli Broad College of Business, the Addys have created several endowed faculty positions, which are key to helping MSU attract the very best professors.

The best professors help attract the best students, and a community of talented teachers and students helps create a strong department.

It is a ripple effect that Fred Addy could not be more proud to witness. “One of the nicest pleasures that I get out of having given money to the university, is to see the results,” he says. “It’s a direct impact. We give the money, the chair is established, and we can see exactly what has happened — and we’re pleased.”
