MSU's energy future topic of webcast

Michigan State University President Lou Anna K. Simon will host a live webcast, “A Conversation with President Simon about MSU’s Energy Future,” at 10:15 a.m. Wednesday in the Lincoln Room of the MSU Kellogg Center.

The event will be webcast live at http://www.energytransition.msu.edu/.

Joining Simon will be Wolfgang Bauer, MSU senior consultant to the executive vice president for administrative services and professor of physics and astronomy; Garrick Rochow, vice president of customer experience, rates and regulation and quality for Consumers Energy; and Gary Farha, founder, president and CEO of CustomerFirst Renewables.

The panel will discuss how updates to MSU’s energy infrastructure and emerging partnerships will position the institution as a leader in sustainability among top research institutions.

“This is an exciting time for us,” said Jennifer Battle of MSU Infrastructure Planning and Facilities. “As the world finds itself at a turning point in energy, the university is poised to be an example of how large organizations can create a sustainable energy infrastructure.”

Questions for the panel may be submitted ahead of time via the Energy Transition website and during the event on Twitter, using #MSUEnergy.

The panel will attempt to answer all questions; those not addressed during the event will be answered later on the website.
