After months of winter comfort food, lighten up your menu at the Spring Soups and Salads class from 6 to 8 p.m. on May 5 at the W.K. Kellogg Bird Sanctuary’s Spruce Lodge.
Join Joanne Stelloh Phelps, a community educator with over 30 years of experience in the culinary and food service industry while she demonstrates how to make spring and summer soups and salads using a combination of fresh ingredients and pantry staples. Students will sample and take a copy of each of the recipes. The menu will offer spring pea soup, nicoise salad, asparagus mushroom soup and spring strawberry salad. Come hungry!
Cost for the class is $40 per adult. 10 percent discount available to current Bird Sanctuary members. For more information and to register please call (269) 671-2160 or email conference@kbs.msu.edu.
