Kellogg Biological Station to hold open houses June 9 and 14

The W.K. Kellogg Biological Station is holding two open houses on June 9 and 14 at its Pasture Dairy Center.

The first open house on June 9 features wagon tours at Kellogg Bird Sanctuary. Visitors will ride with a naturalist to learn how birds utilize pasturelands in Michigan. MSU Dairy Store ice cream will be available, and attendees can enter to win a year's membership to the Kellogg Bird Sanctuary or free lunch for two at the McCrary dining hall.

The second open house on June 14 is cheese sampling at the Pasture Dairy Center. Visitors can sample and purchase the 2014 award-winning Gouda, as well as Asiago and sharp cheddar cheeses. Attendees may enter to win a year's membership to the W.K. Kellogg Manor House or free lunch for two at the McCrary dining hall.

The W.K. Kellogg Biological Station is Michigan State University's largest off-campus education complex and one of North America's premier inland field stations. KBS's mission is focused on ecological and environmental research, education and community outreach.
