Girls Get Going!

Girls Get Going is a free Girls Sports Clinic for 3rd to 8th grade girls. Registration forms are available here.

Young Women Strong Leaders Conference
8:15 a.m. - 2:30 p.m., April 3
Hosted by Central Michigan University

Registration is now open for the 2015 Young Women Strong Leaders Conference. The Young Women Strong Leaders conference provides skill development and professional mentoring opportunities to prepare women for success in their professional life. In this one-day workshop, young women will meet women leaders, student, academic, corporate, and political - from your region and across the state, building a network that will enable to successfully work to improve the status of Michigan women and personal own leadership abilities. Cost is $25.00 per person and it includes lunch. 21st Annual Race for the Place 5K!
April 12
Jenison Field House - MSU

Volunteers needed for the 21st Annual Race for the Place 5K! race. MSU Safe Place's annual 5K Run/Walk will take place on April 12. MSU Safe Place is hoping that this year's event will be the best yet. The 5K course on MSU’s campus begins and ends at Jenison Field House. Volunteers are needed on race day to help with various tasks, including assisting with set-up and refreshments, serving as a course guide, assisting at the finish line or helping with break-down/clean up. Volunteer shifts are:

9:00 - 11:00 a.m. (8 to 10 people needed - set-up)
10:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. (4 outgoing people needed - to greet race participants)
11:30 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. (60-70 people needed - race course and food)
1:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. (15-20 people needed - kids events and tear down)

PAC-MAC Community-Wide Spelling Bee
10:45 a.m. - 3:30 p.m., May 16
Kellogg Hotel & Conference Center - Auditorium

Join the MSU Women's Resource Center for the 27th Annual PAC-MAC Community-Wide Spelling Bee. Students from around the Greater Lansing area in grades 1st - 8th will participate in this annual spelling bee contest. All spelling bee contestants will receive a "goody-bag", Certificate of Participation and their names will be entered into the Grand Prize Drawing for a bicycle. The registration fee is $10.00 per entry and the deadline to register is May 6. For additional information, including a registration form, visit http://wrc.msu.edu and click under the "Events" tab.
