Get ready to celebrate ANR Week's centennial year March 7-14

Agriculture and Natural Resources Week is celebrating 100 years March 7-14 by continuing to be one of the largest events of its kind in the nation.

Foundations for this week were laid more than a century ago, and today more than 50 programs and annual association meetings are part of the event.

ANR Week began in 1914 during the joint meeting of the Farmers’ Institute Round-Up and the Michigan Livestock Breeders and Feeders Association. At this time ANR Week was known as Farmer’s Week. During the event farmers would come to Michigan Agricultural College (now MSU) and stay the full week to engage in lectures, demonstrations, exhibits and evening programs. While the times have changed, the philosophy to serve all the people of the state of Michigan remains the same.

Topics and programs have evolved with the industry and this year will include a wide array of programs in areas such as horticulture, natural resources and agriculture. ANR Week events will be held all over the campus of MSU during the week.
