Gerald Rhead, director of academic entrepreneurship and co-director of Michigan State University’s Food Knowledge Cloud, has been appointed interim director of MSU Global, effective July 1.
He has more than 20 years of program development, corporate training design, business development and marketing experience. Rhead’s work at MSU Global focuses on collaborating with academic units and providing the necessary consulting and development to support research, revenue and reputation-building enterprises.
Rhead succeeds Christine Geith, who has accepted the position of chief executive officer at the eXtension Foundation, a network of the national Cooperative Extension System, the nation’s largest nonformal educational organization.
MSU Global is an innovation and strategy unit in the Office of the Provost that assists faculty in creating, facilitating and implementing projects that lead to new research and funding opportunities and enhance the reputation of the university community.
