Family fun at the Wharton Center

Act One Family Series weekend matinee performances provide an opportunity to introduce children to the performing arts.

The following shows are specially designed for young audiences and their families, and feature national and international touring youth theatre production companies.

  • “The Monster Who Ate My Peas”
    • Based on the award-winning story, this musical tells the tale of a young boy who doesn’t want to eat his peas. When a monster appears under his kitchen table, the boy is ready to make a deal.
    • 1:30 p.m. and 4 p.m. on Jan. 31
  •  “Peter Rabbit Tales”
    • Using masks, puppets, scenery and original music, the magical world of Beatrix Potter comes to life onstage.
    • 1:30 p.m. and 4 p.m. on Feb. 27
  • “Skippyjon Jones- Snow What”
    • Skippyjon Jones is a Siamese cat who thinks he’s a dog. When he is sent to his room, Skippy bounces on his bed and heads off for the real adventure awaiting him in his imagination.
    • 1:30 p.m. and 4 p.m. on March 12
