Agriculture and Natural Resources Week, March 7-14 at MSU, will offer a workshop to train those interested in becoming Project FISH, Friends Involved in Sportfishing Heritage, instructors. Training sessions will be available from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on March 10 and 11 in room 152 of the Natural Resources Building.
Coordinated through the MSU Department of Community Sustainability, this workshop is a partnership with MSU Extension, MSU 4-H Youth Development, the Michigan Department of Natural Resources, Michigan United Conservation Clubs and many other organizations to educate young people about natural resources found in Michigan.
The aim of Project FISH is to provide hands-on, multiple-contact sport fishing and aquatic resource education for young people. The event will offer activities in aquatic ecology, tackle crafting, people and fish management and angling. Each participant will leave the workshop with curriculum activities, equipment, a fishing rod and reel and access to supplies and resources to begin a successful fishing program or club with children in the classroom or in an after-school setting.
For 100 years, the MSU College of Agriculture and Natural Resources, MSU Extension and MSU AgBioResearch have welcomed visitors to ANR Week.
