Wharton Center presents ‘Aladdin And Other Enchanting Tales’

MSU’s Wharton Center for Performing Arts will present the Enchantment Theatre Company’s “Aladdin And Other Enchanting Tales,” at 1:30 and 4 p.m. Jan. 12 in the Cobb Great Hall.

The show, which is recommended for ages 4 and older, follows Scheherazade, the storyteller heroine, and her cast of characters. The adventures include sailing on Sinbad's ship to exotic lands, battling a giant dragon with the prince, discovering Aladdin's lamp and more.

Through these tales, Scheherazade takes her Sultan on a journey of self-discovery, experiencing the kindness of strangers and the triumph of good over evil with spellbinding magic, spectacular puppets, costumes and masks, and told with the delightful music of Rimsky-Korsakov.

The show is from the producers of The Velveteen Rabbit and Harold and the Purple Crayon and is sponsored by Brogan, Reed, Van Gorder & Associates, Ohio National Financial Services, Jackson National Life Insurance Company, Michigan Council for Arts and Cultural Affairs with the National Endowment for the Arts and Mid Michigan MRI.
