Watch World Cup games live at International Center

The 2014 FIFA World Cup Brazil kicks off on June 12, and the Michigan State University community can watch games live through July 13 on the big screen at the Food Court in the International Center.

The World Cup is played as follows: 32 teams compete in eight groups and winners of each group advance to a knockout stage, then to quarter finals, semifinals and eventually a champion is named.

The FIFA World Cup web site provides match schedules, news stories and interactive timelines of past World Cup tournaments.

In addition, a free soccer clinic will be held noon to 3 p.m. June 14 at Demonstration Hall Field with coaches from the MSU men’s soccer team and the new Lansing United team. The clinic is open to children 5 to 12 years old and adults 18 years and older.

Viewings are sponsored by Office for International Students and Scholars, IT Services Teaching and Learning and Residential and Hospitality Services.
