Upcoming reptile and amphibian ID workshop at KBS

Herpetofauna, known as "herps," include reptiles and amphibians - a fascinating, yet understudied part of the animal kingdom. The health of herp populations is an important indicator of overall environmental health.

David Mifsud, from Herpetological Resource and Management, will lead this fun, informative workshop from noon to 4 p.m.. May 3 at MSU's Kellogg Bird Sanctuary. Participants will gain skills to become citizen scientists, monitoring herp populations for the Michigan Herp Atlas, both at the Sanctuary and in their own backyards.

Dress to get muddy and wear rubber boots or waders. Pre-registration required by Monday, April 28. Call (269) 671-2510 or email birdsanctuary@kbs.msu.edu with questions and to register
