Sharper Focus/Wider Lens returns Sept. 8

"The Evolving Nature of Rights," part of the Sharper Focus/Wider Lens series, will begin at 7 p.m. Sept. 8 on the second floor of the MSU Union Ballroom. This faculty panel will discuss the evolving nature of civil and human rights including indigenous property rights, the right to water, privacy, health care and more.

The panel will be featuring:

  • Joan Howarth, dean, College of Law
  • Steven Kautz, associate dean, College of Social Science
  • Laurie Medina, associate chair, Department of Anthropology, College of Social Science
  • Joan Rose, Homer Nowlin Endowed Chair of Water Research, Department of Fisheries and Wildlife, College of Agriculture and Natural Resources
  • William Strampel, dean, College of Osteopathic Medicine

The panel will be moderated by Cynthia Jackson-Elmoore, dean of the Honors CollegeAll Sharper Focus/Wider Lens talks are free and open to the public. Light refreshments will be served.
