MSU professor wins Transatlantic Leadership Award

MSU professor John Hudzik has won the 2014 Transatlantic Leadership Award from the European Association for International Education. The honor is given to an active EAIE member who has provided significant leadership to educational exchange between Europe and North America with a spirit of mutual understanding and respect.

From 1995 to 2010, Hudzik was MSU’s dean of International Studies and Programs and vice president for Global Engagement and Strategic Projects. He was acting provost at MSU in 2005.

Hudzik frequently publishes on topics of international higher education and serves on numerous international policy and advisory boards. He has received several awards for scholarly work in judicial systems and in international education, including the Charles Klasek Award from the Association of International Education Administrators.

Hudzik is chairperson of the scientific committee of the Centre for Higher Internationalisation at the Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore in Italy; a senior fellow for internationalization at NAFSA: Association of International Educators; former board chairperson and past president of NAFSA; and past president of the Association of International Education Administrators.
