MSU professor inducted into Michigan Women’s Hall of Fame

MaryLee Davis, professor and senior adviser to the dean of the MSU College of Osteopathic Medicine at MSU, was one of the Michigan Women’s Hall of Fame 2014 Honorees.

Davis earned her B.S. and M.S. degrees at University of Tennessee before coming to MSU to earn her Ph.D and begin her career. While at MSU, Davis has been the executive assistant to the president; secretary of the MSU Board of Trustees; associate vice president for Public Service and Community Affairs; associate vice president for Governmental Affairs; assistant vice President for Administration and Public Affairs; and assistant executive vice president.

She also was a professor of higher education in the College of Education. She served as the state coordinator for the American Council on Education National Identification Program for 11 years and currently serves on the Michigan ACE Executive Board as the past State Coordinator and Chair of the statewide Public Policy Committee. Davis also serves as the Faculty Advisor for the MSU Council of Graduate Students.

Davis was honored on Oct. 30 at the Michigan Women’s Hall of Fame Awards Dinner and Induction Ceremony, held at the Kellogg Hotel and Conference Center. The Michigan Women’s Hall of Fame recognized her as “a trailblazer, role model, mentor and champion of organizations and causes.” Davis was one of 11 women and one man who were honored.
