MSU Law hosts forum on adolescent end-of-life care

An upcoming symposium at the Michigan State University College of Law will explore whether adolescents should be entitled to make end-of-life decisions about their medical care.

The free public symposium, “Living with Terminal Illness: Should Adolescent Minors Make Decisions at the End of Their Life?,” will be held from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday in the Castle Board Room at the MSU College of Law.

National and international panelists will discuss ethical challenges presented by a mature child's medical decision-making power, possible frameworks to change the mature minor's decision-making role and the reality of relationships in end-of-life care.

There will be three panels throughout the day: 9 a.m., 11 a.m. and 12:45 p.m. and lunch will be provided. Attendees are encouraged to RSVP.
