MSU Human Resources to host talk on health care, social justice

Part of Project 60/50, MSU Human Resources will host "Social Justice, Affordable Health Care and the Individual Responsibility" from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Nov. 14 at the Radiology Auditorium, 846 Service Rd.

The conversation will consist of three parts:

  • The history of health care in American society.
  • The Affordable Health Care Act - What’s it all about?
  • Medical responsibilities - The impact and implications on society as it relates to those who have health care and those who do not.

Speakers include:

  • Sharon Butler, MSU assistant vice president for Human Resources: "The History of Health Care in American Society"
  • Janene McIntyre, Lansing city attorney: "The Affordable Health Care Act"
  • Margaret Aguwa, associate dean of community outreach and clinical research at MSU's College of Osteopathic Medicine: "Individual Medical Responsibilities"

Parking will be covered by MSU Human Resources. A light lunch will be provided.

Project 60/50 is a yearlong celebration using the 60th anniversary of Brown v. Board of Education and the 50th anniversary of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 to engage the MSU campus and greater community in a broad range of civil and human rights conversations.
