Department of Theatre presents 'Cyrano De Bergerac'

Michigan State University’s Department of Theatre will present "Cyrano De Bergerac," its first production in the newly renovated Fairchild Theatre.

Stratford Theatre Festival’s Edward Daranyi directs this classic romance that tells of a man who is afraid to express his true feelings to the one he loves due to the fear of rejection, humiliation or downright disgust. The title character, Cyrano, is a remarkable duelist, a gifted poet and a man of strong will; however, the one trait he cannot control is the root of his own self-doubt; his extremely large nose. This MSU production, which stars faculty member Mark Colson, and opens aptly on Valentine’s Day, is a perfect night of theatre which is sure to please the romantic in everyone.

Performances will be held Feb. 14-23.

Tickets are available from the Wharton Center Box Office, 1.800.WHARTON or www.whartoncenter.com. The Box office at the Auditorium opens one hour prior to each performance with house doors opening 30 minutes prior.
