Debate Team qualifies third group for National Debate Tournament

The MSU Debate Team has qualified a third group for the National Debate Tournament to be held March 28 - April 1 at Indiana University. Only six schools in the country have been allowed to qualify three teams for the competition.

The newly-qualified team is composed of international relations junior Aniela Butler and math sophomore Margaret Strong. Butler and Strong are one of nine two-woman teams that will compete at nationals.

“We are honored to be recognized like this and have Aniela and Margaret as the third team representing MSU,” said Will Repko, coach of the MSU Debate Team. “The students strive to admirably represent our university, even forgoing their spring break to study and hone their arguments for nationals.”
