Christie Smith, the managing principal of the Deloitte University Leadership Center for Inclusion, will be giving a diversity/inclusion talk titled “It’s Time to Get Under the Covers.”
Her presentation will address “covering” the pressure to hide a stigmatized identity in order to avoid discrimination in the workplace.
All students are invited to attend her presentation, which will be held at 5:30 p.m. Oct. 28 in BCC N130.
Smith has been identified by Diversity Journal as one of the 2013 Women Worth Watching and listed as one of San Francisco’s Most Influential Women for the past three consecutive years by the Business Times. She is a frequent lecturer and author on subjects such as corporate values, leadership, culture, inclusion, and talent, and her work has been featured in Fortune, Harvard Business Review, the New York Times, Forbes and Fast Company.
