Celebrate the season in style with MSU College of Music’s 'A Jazzy Little Christmas'

MSU Professors of Jazz are celebrating the holidays with jazzy renditions of favorite holiday tunes in “A Jazzy Little Christmas” at 8 p.m. Dec. 13 at the recently renovated Fairchild Theatre.

The jazz concert, which is part of the College of Music’s MSU Federal Credit Union Showcase Series, offers a renewed spin on traditional Christmas tunes for jazz lovers.

“A Jazzy Little Christmas” is sure to get audience members in the mood for spreading holiday cheer.

“We’re putting on a night of jazzy holiday festivities and hope everyone will celebrate with us,” said Rodney Whitaker, acclaimed jazz bassist and director of jazz studies in the College of Music. “This concert is sure to get you in the Christmas spirit.”

MSU professors include Etienne Charles, Xavier Davis, Michael Dease, Randy Gelispie, Randy Napoleon, Diego Rivera and Whitaker.

Tickets for the concert are $20 for adults, $18 for seniors, and $10 for students. They can be purchased at the College of Music box office at (517) 353-5340, online at music.msu.edu or at the door.
