Arturo Sandoval to perform at Wharton Center

Music legend Arturo Sandoval will be performing Nov. 14 at the Wharton Theatre in the Cobb Great Hall.

One of the most dynamic and vivacious live performers of his time, Arturo Sandoval has his spot in the jazz pantheon assured. More than anything, the 10-time Grammy-winning, crowd-pleasing artist has forged his own bold synthesis of bebop and Latin jazz styles in his long and prodigious career.

Sandoval’s latest Grammy-winning release, "Dear Diz (Every Day I Think of You)," pays tribute to his mentor, Dizzy Gillespie, who also helped Sandoval and his family defect from Cuba to the U.S. 24 years ago. Sandoval’s story was made into a movie, For Love or Country, starring Andy Garcia as Sandoval. A consummate performer and entertainer, Sandoval will lead his blazing jazz combo in an unforgettable night of sizzling music.
