'Annie' comes to Wharton Center

The popular musical "Annie" is coming to Wharton Center's Cobb Great Hall Dec. 16-21.

Directed by original lyricist and director Martin Charnin, this production of "Annie" will be an incarnation of the iconic original.

Little orphan Annie is determined to find her parents who abandoned her years ago on the doorstep of an orphanage run by the cruel, embittered Miss Hannigan. With the help of the other orphans, Annie escapes to the wondrous world of New York. In a series of adventures, Annie foils Miss Hannigan’s evil machinations and befriends President Franklin Delano Roosevelt and finds a new home with billionaire Oliver Warbucks, his personal secretary Grace Farrell and a lovable mutt named Sandy.

Featuring book and score by Tony Award®-winners Thomas Meehan, Charles Strouse and Martin Charnin, "Annie" includes such songs as "It’s the Hard-knock Life," "Easy Street" and "Tomorrow."

Tickets to see "Annie" are available online at whartoncenter.com, at the Auto-Owners Insurance Ticket Office at Wharton Center or by calling 1-800-WHARTON.
