Shilique Calhoun collects weekly honors

Sophomore defensive end Shilique Calhoun has collected several weekly honors after scoring two touchdowns and recording two tackles for loss, including a 9-yard sack, in Michigan State's 21-6 win over South Florida on Sept. 7 at Spartan Stadium.

Calhoun was named the Walter Camp Football Foundation National Defensive Player of the Week on Sunday, and was named the Big Ten Defensive Player of the Week on Monday. He also was tabbed as the CBSSports.com National Defensive Player of the Week, the College Football Performance Awards National Defensive Performer of the Week and National Defensive Lineman of the Week, and made the weekly Paul Hornung Award Honor Roll.
