Odyssey of the Mind world finals comes to MSU for the third time

From May 22 to May 25, Michigan State University will host the 34th annual Odyssey of the Mind World Finals.

More than 800 teams comprised of students from all over the globe will travel to East Lansing to take part in the largest international creative problem-solving competition. Approximately 7,000 guests are staying in the residence halls and an additional 7,000 people are staying in hotels around the area.

This is the third time MSU has hosted the world finals. Previous years were 2007 and 2010.

The MSU Dairy Store has created a new flavor for this year’s event, “Odyssey’s Brain Freeze,” which consists of vanilla ice cream with chocolate covered pretzel-caramel balls with a sea salt caramel swirl.

Odyssey of the Mind guests are encouraged to park in lots 83, 91, 75 and 89 and use the shuttle buses provided.

Many campus buildings and facilities will be used during the finals. A complete list can be found here. The only building that will not be accessible by MSU faculty or staff is the A wing of Wells Hall. All other buildings are accessible and the MSU community is encouraged to check out the competitions.
