MSU Board of Trustees to meet Friday

The Michigan State University Board of Trustees will meet at 9:30 a.m. Friday in the Board Room of the Hannah Administration Building.

Following are several items the board will consider.

  • Authorization to proceed with a renovation project to Chittenden Hall, work that includes interior design, plumbing, heating and air conditioning, electrical and life safety systems. Once completed, the facility would house the MSU Graduate School.
  • Authorization to proceed with the building of a new practice field for the Spartan Marching Band. To be located on the southeast corner of Munn Field, the field will include construction of a regulation-sized, artificial turf football field.
  • Authorization to proceed with a north campus steam tunnel replacement project. The work would be centered along West Circle Drive from Auditorium Road to the intersection with East Circle Drive. Construction would begin in November, with completion in August 2014.

In addition, the board will receive the 2013 Sustainability Report; reports from the president and board chairman; the gifts, grants and contracts report; and consider a number of personnel actions.
