Boost your energy with midday campus walk March 27

Get away from your desk, enjoy some fresh air and welcome spring with a refreshing lunchtime walk on the Michigan State University campus at 12:15 p.m. March 27.

All members of the MSU community are encouraged to join the March Madness Edition of the monthly “Walk on Wednesdays!” program, organized by MSU Moves.

“I think all faculty and staff should make time to join the Walk on Wednesdays program,” said James Pivarnik, professor of kinesiology and epidemiology, who participated in the February walk. “It is short, yet invigorating, and is a great way to relieve a bit of stress that builds up during the busy day.”

Participants can join the March Madness walk at any of four locations:

  • East Circle: Begin inside at the main entrance of the Student Services Building on East Circle Drive.
  • Horticulture Gardens: Begin inside at the North entrance of Plant and Soil Sciences on Wilson Road (this entrance is a full window connection between the two buildings).
  • Communication Arts & Sciences: Begin inside at the Southeast corner of Red Cedar Road and Wilson Road (this is the northwest corner of CAS).
  • Nisbet (HR) building: Begin inside at the main entrance of the Nisbet building.

A representative from MSU Moves will be at each location to pass out maps of the walk route and answer any questions.

“These events are perfect for a midday mental break,” said communications senior Sarah Sheff. “They give students the opportunity to enjoy MSU’s beautiful campus without rushing to class, and it’s a great way to sneak in some extra exercise.”

Don’t forget to mark your calendar for the John Hannah Walk April 24.
