2013 MSU Help Tackle Hunger Food Drive receives record donations

Spartans contributed more than 2,100 pounds of food and more than $1,500 to the seventh annual Help Tackle Hunger Food Drive Nov. 4-30.

This year’s food drive topped the previous year’s donation levels by more than $300, marking the third consecutive year of increased donations.

The MSU Student Food Bank is a founding member of the College and University Food Bank Alliance, and was the first food bank run by students, for students, when it opened in 1993. The Food Bank is a vital resource for students, distributing more than 50,000 pounds of food annually to more than 4,700 students.

The 2013 Help Tackle Hunger Food Drive was made possible through the partnership of MSU’s Department of Residential and Hospitality Services and the MSU Student Food Bank. For more information, visit the Help Tackle Hunger Food Drive website at www.fooddrive.msu.edu.
