MSU rated a ‘best value’ by Kiplinger’s Personal Finance

Michigan State University continues to be a “best value” according to Kiplinger’s Personal Finance.

The publication’s latest listing of the 100 best values in public colleges finds MSU ranked No. 46, an improvement from last year’s ranking of No. 49.

Kiplinger editor Janet Bodnar said MSU was placed in the top 100 due to its high four-year graduation rate, low average student debt at graduation, abundant financial aid and “low sticker price.”

“We applaud this year’s top 100 schools for their efforts to maintain academic standards while meeting the financial needs of their students,” she said.

Kiplinger’s assesses quality according to a number of measureable standards, including admission rate, the percentage of students who return for sophomore year, the student-faculty ratio and the four-year graduation rate.
