MSU Community Music School to host spring open house

The Michigan State University Community Music School will hold a spring open house from 3 to 5 p.m. Jan. 22. The open house allows the public an opportunity to learn more about music education and music therapy programs available for people of all ages and skill levels. 

The open house will feature demos of beginning violin class for ages 7-11 at 3:45 p.m., early childhood music class demo at 3:15 and 4 p.m. and a performance from the Suzuki string students at 4:30 p.m. 

There will also be an instrument petting zoo available to give those in attendance the opportunity to try various instruments. Those interested can participate in walk-in auditions for the Children and Youth Choir Program. 

During the open house, students may register for private lessons, classes and ensembles.
