Tech & Learning, a website and national magazine for leaders in the field of educational technology, has selected education professor Punya Mishra among the 10 Most Influential People in Ed Tech.
The 2011 list was based on a survey of readers and advisers and published in the June issue of the magazine.
Mishra is one of only two academics featured, along with Karen Cator, director of the U.S. Department of Education's Office of Educational Technology, the "Google for Educators" development team and the Apple Design team.
Writes Editorial Director Kevin Hogan: "We believe that these men and women will profoundly change the way we think about learning in school, how we use technology to effect that change, and how we incorporate policies that make that change nationwide."
Mishra is known for co-developing (with fellow MSU faculty member Matthew Koehler) the Technological Pedagogical Content Knowledge framework for integrating technology with learning. He and Koehler also recently co-chaired the national Society for Information Technology & Teacher Education conference.
