MSU’s Strampel accepts award from governor of Yucatan

EAST LANSING, Mich. — William Strampel, dean of MSU's College of Osteopathic Medicine, visited the historic city of Merida, Mexico, last month to accept an award on behalf of Michigan State University.

Strampel, along with MSU's Institute of International Health, was honored for playing an integral role in gaining approval for the U.S. model of osteopathic medicine in the Mexican state of Yucatan.

The governor of the Yucatan, Ivonne Ortega Pacheco, also recognized Strampel for a new partnership and research initiative between MSU and the Yucatan Department of Health and UADY School of Medicine.
