EAST LANSING, Mich. -- Recent MSU graduate Emily Regan was the six seat in the U.S. boat which won gold by a margin of open water, and rising senior Laura Cowal also medaled as the stroke of the Canadian eight at last week's Under-23 Rowing World Championships in Belarus.
The two were three-year teammates in MSU's varsity eight, and helped add another level of prestige for the three-time defending Big Ten champion boat by bringing home medals from international competition.
