Bruno Basso: Innovator

Bruno Basso is a Foundation Professor of earth and environmental sciences in the College of Natural Science. His research falls broadly in the area of sustainable agriculture.

Last year, he was honored with the Innovation of the Year award by MSU's Innovation Center for his work with crop growth management technology.

Basso, a professor in the department of geological sciences, is creating algorithms and software involving advanced crop system models that incorporate plant physiology to predict the impact of weather, soil and management practices on crop yield.
